Muriel Elblein, 84, of Bostwick, passed away Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at her residence following an extended illness. She was a native of Brooklyn, NY and had been a resident of Bostwick for the past 26 years, coming from Islip, NY. She was a retired nurse. She had been an active member of St. Johns Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking and crafts including needlepoint. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Elblein; mother and father, Pauline Laubengeiger Kearns and John J. Kearns who were killed in battle during WW II; a son, John Archer; a grandson, Angelo Gonzalez and two brothers, Raymond Elblein and John Elblein.

Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Frederick, Jr. and Stephanie Elblein of New York; two daughters and son-in-law, Deborah Archer of New York and Lorene and Jose Matos of Bostwick; a sister, Barbara Sexton of Virginia; 17 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Masters Funeral Home in Palatka with Pastor L. D. Osteen and Pastor Leon Edenfield officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton, NY under the direction of Maloney Funeral Home in Hauppauge, NY.
