Dennis L. Anderson

Master Chief Dennis L. Anderson (USN, Ret.), 70, of Crescent city, passed away March 27, 2018 at Putnam Community Medical Center in Palatka following an extended illness.

Master Chief Anderson had lived in Crescent City for the last three years, coming from Deland. He had lived many years in Proctor, MN prior to moving to Deland. He served honorably in the United States Navy and retired in 1990 off of the USS Kansas following 26 years of service and three tours in Vietnam. He was a Master Chief Boatswains mate. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, horses, drag racing, and rebuilding cars. He was a 49ers fan. He was “Papa” to his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Julie Inman Anderson.

Surviving are his wife, Doreen Anderson of Crescent City; his parents, Robert and Eunice Anderson of Casselberry; two daughters and a son-in-law, Denise and Harold Meade and Andrea Jorgeson all of Proctor, MN; a step-son, Kerry James of Arizona; three sisters, Nancy, Susan, and Debbie Anderson all of Orlando; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many extended family and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be 1:00 p.m. Sunday, April 15, 2018 at the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Lake Como (110 Shriners Club Rd.), with military honors provided by the U.S. Navy.
