Richard A. “Dickie” Howland, 60, of Florahome passed away Sunday, January 7, 2018 at his residence following an extended illness.

Dickie was born in Boston, MA and had lived in Florahome for the last 26 years, coming from Lenox, MA. He was a hard-working man who had worked in landscaping and lawn care for the City of Gulfport, FL, among others. Fishing, football, and cooking were his passions and he was a big fan of the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox. He also enjoyed collecting old bottles. He had attended a non-denominational church.

Surviving are his wife of 39 years, Debbie Howland of Florahome; his parents, Robert and Marion Howland of Ocala; his son, Robert Scott Howland and wife, Kailey of St. Augustine; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Robin and Peter Stevens of Ocala, Evie and Nando Mostacci of Ocala, Cindy and Lennie Thomson of Davenport, and Tammy and Roy Holbrook of Helen, GA; a step-sister, Kimberly Warren of Ohio; a granddaughter, Paisley Jean Howland; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Masters Funeral Home in Palatka with Pastor Robert T. Howland and Bro. Jim Davis officiating. Dickie’s son, Scott will also be speaking. The family will begin receiving friends one hour prior to the service.
