JOHN W. FOWLER

On the 20th day of September, two thousand and seventeen, John W. Fowler, 68, set sail into the sunset with the Lord as his Captain; he has now completed his voyage to a land where “Orange became a color.”

John was a lifelong resident of Putnam County, having been born in Palatka and living most of his life in Welaka and Lake Como. John worked for CSX Railroad and retired after 28 years of service. John was an amazing man that never met a stranger and would give you the shirt off his back. He loved fishing and spending time with his family. He was a man that loved with his whole heart and made sure to tell you that he loved you no matter if he just met you. His passion was bottle hunting and he could tell you the history of every single bottle he has ever found. A story teller he was; he told the funniest stories and up until his death never lost his wit and ability to make everyone laugh. We will miss him dearly!

He was preceded in death by his parents, C.W. and Lottie Ruth Fowler and his brother, Robert Fowler.

Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Cindy Dollar Fowler of Lake Como, whom he married on August 20, 1976 in Gamboa, Canal Zone; a son, Josh Fowler (Misti) of Yulee; a daughter, Renee Lamoreaux (Pete) of Palatka; someone he thought of as a son, Rick Pugh of Pomona Park; eight brothers and sisters, Ronnie Fowler (Denise) of Salt Springs, Jim Fowler (Sandy) of Fleming Island, Gerry Fowler of Green Cove Springs, Priscilla Fullerton (John) of Keystone Heights, Roseanne Hartley (Steve) of Palatka, Sheryl Player (David) of Ormond Beach, Cindy Crews (Kenny) of Green Cove Springs, and Susan Fowler of Palatka; and four grandchildren, Rhett Lamoreaux, Dylan Fowler, Alivia Fowler, and Easton Fowler.
